KNS introduced a new low-cost 60cm VSAT antenna system to work with Newtec's Triple play services offered in Europe (Astra/IPCopter). The Newtec service was designed for terrestrial broadband but maritime customers also can take advantage of a high-speed internet connection on their boats from now.
It means that maritime customers can enjoy alway-on internet connection including telephony service using VoIP and IP television access with content-on-demand facilities at the same price of terrestrial service even on their ships.
Even though it is 60cm small antenna, data can be transmitted and received via satellite up to 2 Mbits/s download and 128kbits/s upload speeds.
